Inviska MKV Extract is a free, cross‑platform desktop utility for extracting content from Matroska (MKV) files without re‑encoding. It provides a simple graphical interface to the mkvextract tool from MKVToolNix, making it easy to pull out specific video, audio, and subtitle tracks, along with attachments (such as embedded fonts and images), chapters, tags, and timecodes.

Key features:

  • Select and extract individual tracks with clear language, codec, and track‑name details
  • Batch processing with drag‑and‑drop support for multiple files and folders
  • Saves attachments, chapters, and tags to appropriate formats (e.g., fonts as files, chapters/tags as XML)
  • Preserves original stream formats—no transcoding or quality loss
  • Options to choose output locations and mirror source folder structures
  • Available for Windows, macOS, and Linux

Note: Inviska MKV Extract uses the mkvextract component of MKVToolNix under the hood. It focuses on extraction only and does not edit, convert, or remux MKV files.

Inviska MKV Extract is developed by Inviska Software and is used by 2 users of Software Informer. The most popular version of this product among our users is 11.0. The name of the program executable file is InviskaMKVExtract.exe.

It is so useful to extract things like subtitles from an MKV file.
